Zenith vs Nadir as above so below

The Zenith is the point directly “above” a particular location or person, on the theoretical celestial sphere. On the exact opposite of the Zenith lies the Nadir. The point directly underneath a specific locations or someones head. In the ancient wisdoms of ‘as above so below’ it tells us that every living thing has to deal with it two polars, our duality, male and female, yin and yang, good or bad, dark or light.

Encounters

Ghost Flowers

In the xeric wilderness of the Mojave desert trees and vegetation more ancient than many civilisations defy conditions that prey on human vulnerability. The ghost flower is a rare species that dares to blossom above this baked, hard ground. Despite its arid surroundings and inability to produce nectar, the ghost flower, or mohavea confertiflora, maintains its perfect, majestic beauty and thrives year after year. In an astonishing feat of ingenuity the flower uses mimicry to attract the pollinators of neighbouring plant species by developing markings that resemble those of a male bee genus attracted to its subject and duping the male bee into following suit.

Ancient Settlements

During your stay you learn about the ancient order that first founded the Nomad City; a diverse group of monks, knights and scholars from a wide range of religions and nations, bonded togethe by the mutual need to preserve and rediscover all that has been of paramount importance in the grand journey of mankind.

They chose to live their lives in dedication to that ever expanding cumulative of wisdom, gathered and preserved throughout the centuries. This flame has been passed on from generation to generation; instilling those who searched it with a purpose, a true calling, a reason of existence.

Ancient Symbolism

A symbol that you by now have seen on most of your Omar Owen travels is the worldwide known, historical, flower of life pattern. It is known as one the most sacred geometrical shapes and some say it beholds the story of the creation o man and everything around us. A variate of cultures, from the far east to Egypt, up to Scandinavia and in the Americas, dating back from over thousands of years ago have shown in multiple ways to understand the knowledge of this pattern or just simply know the pattern. The great oddity is that they all had a common understanding about a pattern without having the ability to communicate with cultures on the other side of the planet. It is up to you to figure out what energy this symbol possess.

Tribal and ancient drawings, patterns and textiles made in the original way. The tents are furnished with stunning pieces like a big chandelier made of gem stones. You feel completely in a different world fully into yourself and the space around you.

Nomad rituals

Bedouin nomads have a strong an rich history related to conquering the most difficult places where they can survive. As a travelers tribe no destination is kept for long periods since food is scarce in these remote areas of the planet. They have a rich tradition in there way of life. Food on one hand has its clear types and rituals. Typical Bedouin food includes bread, rice dates, seasoned rice, yoghurt and milk and meat from their animals. Bedouins like to eat goatand- rice dishes cooked over an open fire. A typical Bedouin breakfast consists of yoghurt, bread and coffee. Coffee breaks are relished. They are the primary social activities. They are usually exclusively male affairs and sometimes last all day. If a stranger is spotted on the horizon a pot of coffee is brewed to offer with dates as hospitality when they arrive. A guest customarily accepts three servings. Bedouins signal they have had enough to drink by twisting the cup back and forth with their wrist. Coffee has traditionally been one of the most popular backsheesh gifts.

Desert Sky

Sleeping outside brings you as close to nature as possible.

In the early morning, the intense darkness of the night starts to fade as the sun begins to rise. The light sound of birds in their morning chirp is the only thing breaking the desert silence. And then the most magical moment of the day: the moment that the sun rises above the horizon and casts its light on the sandstone mountains of Wadi Rum. The refreshed air slowly will be warmed by the rising sun. If you wake up in time, you can find yourself a place to enjoy this magic.

jewelry

A genuine and old Tuareg robe weight known as assrou n swoul (assrou n’ swoul), generally translated as “ the key which is thrown over the shoulder “. The assrou n swoul is a highly prized and valued piece among the collectors of Berber antiques and jewellery. Items of this kind and quality are extremely rare. Tuareg blacksmiths, known asinadan in Tamazight (‘Berber language’), are well known for their fine metal-work and are among the best in the Sahara. This elaborate keylike pendant is often worn by wealthier women as a counterweight to keep their head-cloths or robes from being blown away by the Sahara’s winds. The Tuareg who are among the last nomads on earth are famous for their stunning silver jewelry, hand etched in traditional designs. The cross of the Agadez is the most famous among the 21 emblems of the Tuareg – 21 different designs, each representing a specific nomadic enclave of Niger. One interpretation among many of their cross design is a representation of the Four Corners of the Earth – a metaphysical and spiritual compass for a people who are always on the move.

Fire in the sand

The enchanted sound of drums lures you to the heart of the resort. You encounter various travellers who have been on a similar journey as yourself and immediately feel captivated by the magnetism between all of you, as if you are connected in some way. Your journey has made you question life itself, but now you feel at peace, as if it all makes sense and the answers lie within yourself and you are not alone. This divine intervention is what you’ve been searching for. For the first time in your life you are overwhelmed by the feeling that you no longer have to explain yourself to anyone. There are no words, just a mutual understanding. You realise that this journey was about discovering who you are as a human being, the real you. The journey was unpredictable and deeply engaged as it brough you face to face with your deepest fears, self-doubts, vulnerabilities and insecurities. On the journey you questioned how you were living your life and whether or not it was aligned with your highest purpose. And if you did not know your highest purpose, it allowed you to live in that space of not knowing.

Relaxation

Knowing yourself meant giving yourself permission to ‘not knowing’ whilst unravelling the deeper truth of who you are. You exchange stories and experiences with one another around a bonfire, which signifies the burning of the impurities of our heart and the subsequent realisation of our spiritual glory. The fire in the sand also symbolizes bringing humanity closer to divinity and putting aside our worldly preoccupations to focus on the God inside ourselves.

Himma Plan

The solar energy uses the radiant light and heat from the sun to generate electricity. The heat from the geothermal energy is used to directly heat the tents and used in conjunction with geothermal heat pumps. The wind turbines also generate electricity from the kinetic power of the wind.

Biomass energy is used for space heating, cooking, hot water heating and also electricity generation. Wood is the common source of fuel here. Using earth as our energy resources make Nomad City completely self sustainable.

It’s a world of energy, energy, energy,
The world’s full of energy
Everywhere you look.
A crane uses energy,
To operate a hook.
A scientist uses energy
To open a book.
The sun gives off energy,
energy, energy,
The sun gives off energy,
It keeps the world alive !
Green plants use sunlight
To make and store our food.
Their chemical energy
Brightens up our mood.
Energy, energy,
We’ll save our energy,
The World for you and me.
